Description:
Mental Health First AID is like regular first aid, but rather than treating a physical injury, you treat a person experiencing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. The course covers the most common mental health illnesses, which include substance disorders, mood disorders such as anxiety and trauma, as well as psychotic disorders. Students will learn how to identify signs and symptoms of these illnesses, the steps needed to help support an individual having a mental health crisis, effective interventions and treatments for mental illness, and how to help a person experiencing a crisis get professional help.
Please be on time for class…
If you will be late, please advise our facilitator. Include your name and the course you’re enrolled in: daniellec@cmhask.com.
