Date: Wednesday, December 4th & Wednesday, December 11th 2024
Time: (5:00-8:30 PM EST) – both evenings.
Delivery: Virtual – a link will be sent to the registered email within 3 days of the training date conditional on completion of Module 1 (Online Self Directed Learning). Note: cameras must be on for the entire duration of the training.
Cost: $225.00
Certificate: Yes – issued by Opening Minds (Mental Health Commission of Canada)
Training Layout:
  • Module 1: Self-Directed (1.5-2 Hours): An introductory module that lays the foundation of MHFA actions.
  • Module 2: Live (Online)Classroom (3.5 hours): Focuses on applying MHFA actions in scenarios of declining mental well-being and adapting conversations for diverse groups.
  • Module 3: Live (Online) Classroom (3.5 hours): Enhances skills in crisis management and highlights the importance of self-care.
Please note, 1-2 weeks before the training begins, participants will be sent a link to the self-paced learning module, Module 1. Module 1 must be completed in full in order to receive access to Module 2 and Module 3. Participants must complete all 3 modules in full to receive their certificate from Opening Minds (Mental Health Commission of Canada).

About the Facilitator: Alexandra Myers
Alexandra is a MACP alumni and now a practicing RP (Qualifying). In addition to this, Alexandra is a professor of Psychology at a local College and is a licensed MHFA Facilitator with Opening Minds. Further to this, Alexandra has been a Master Facilitator in ASIST and SafeTALK (Living Works) for over 6 years. Prior to practicing psychotherapy, Alexandra worked in community mental health (CMHA) with a specialization in teaching/training within the realm of mental health, suicide prevention, intervention and post-vention. Thus, she brings a wealth of both personal and professional experience to her teaching style and is highly passionate about helping others develop their skills within this field.
