Mental Health First Aid Standard
Virtual Delivery
This course consists of an online independent study module, followed by two 3.5 hour zoom meetings.
Cost: $175/person
Erica McCue is a registered social worker in BC with 8+ years working in the mental health field. She works in direct client care with adults living with chronic and persistent mental health diagnoses. She is passionate about mental health and wellness, the environment, and food security. Erica is interested to reduce stigma and increase safety in communities across Canada. Having facilitated MHFA since 2018, Erica comes with experience and interest in this important topic.
The course:
As an evidence-based course, MHFA Standard has been proven to give participants:
- the tools to recognize signs of decline in mental well-being
- the ability to talk about their mental health
- the knowledge to discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery or improved mental well-being
- the confidence to reach out to these supports
- the tools to assist during a mental health or substance use crisis, and
- the knowledge to use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental wellness.
Module 1: Deadline for completion: 8pm PST Saturday, April 20
Module 2 & 3 (via zoom): 9am – 4:30pm PST Sunday, April 21 (with half hour break for lunch)
