Course Information

Mental Health First Aid for Adults who Interact with Youth focuses on increasing awareness of mental health problems. Participants of this course will gain an understanding of signs and symptoms of mental health problems that youth may experience. We will briefly go over risk factors for the development of these mental health problems. With having a better understanding of mental health problems, participants will then be provided with information on the mental health first aid approach that can be given to support youth when they are crisis. This course will teach participants how to guide youth to professional support as well as explore and encourage other forms of support available. Community members who work with youth or wish to work with youth in the future are encouraged to participate in this training. Training will be held at the Regional Public Health building main conference room located on the 3rd floor. Snacks & coffee/tea will be provided in the morning and afternoon. Those who are interested are welcome to pre-register by providing name at the following email address: lauren.decontie@ssss.gouv.qc.ca . Participants will gain a certificate upon completion of this training course.
